Steven Sasson invented the first digital camera using a CCD. I was wondering what other Technologies have been influenced by Sasson’s CCD system. Does anyone know of any?
I just found out that after the digital camera, CCD technology was applied to microscopes as well. Does anyone know why a CCD microscope would be better than the previous models?

Im going to graduate high school, would like to do either of these sports, if these Sports are available at a college can I participate in them even if I have never practiced the sport. The colleges on which im planning to attend do not specify anything and apparently they are not intramural. My high school does not offer these sports and neither does my town.

While I do not have experience with college archery and/or fencing teams, I do have experience with archery and fencing done by college students.

If the college(s) you are looking at do(es) not offer archery and/or fencing, you should find out if there is an SCA (Society for Creative Anachronisms, Inc.) branch located at/affiliated with the college(s) you are interested in. The SCA, because its main focus is the study and re-creation/re-enactment of the Middle Ages, incorporates archery and fencing into its activities — and most major colleges (and many community colleges) have an on-campus SCA presence. The good part is that you do not have to join the SCA to take part in the archery/fencing, unless you want to join.

I have been involved in archery for more than 30 years, spent ten of those years with SCA archery, and have tried SCA fencing. Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking that fencing is easy or for "sissies", because it is neither — and SCA fencing is only slightly more strenuous than Olympic fencing (the main difference is Olympic fencing is limited to back-and-forth; In SCA fencing, you get to move around and use some foot-work).

I hate science, like chemistry etc. But I would’ve thought that I would need to do a biology course for my HSC to get into psychology in university.
Is that right? If not what type of course will I need to take for science?
Also I only want to do general psychology, not social or biological etc.
Ah, @flingebunt I was planning of doing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, so it’s good to know that it minimizes the science involved.

There are actually 2 branches of psychology in many universities (though some only have one, the major universities in Australia both have 2). There is Psychology in the Science Faculty and Psychogy in the Arts Faculty.

So if you study Psychology inthe Science faculty you will need to do more science, while if you do it through the arts faculty you won’t.

Chemistry, Physics and Maths are essentials in science, but biology is going to be more useful in psychology Chemistry and Physics. For maths, the main thing you need is statistics.

How do retail stores protect the merchandise sitting on the outside of the store?

The only merch I ever see sitting out of Retail stores is too heavy to hoist, chained to the ground, or monitored with cameras. Other than that, I guess they rely on the honor system, or having enough customers to tattle on each other.

Congratulations – very few people seem to realize just how much of a difference a bit of knowledge would make to their images!!!

I would suggest you head to your local library. I have read soooooo many different books, and each one had something new to offer.
If you really fall in love with one of them, you can always go and buy it then, but start off just reading whatever you can get your hands on.

Also don’t forget the online resources, there are countless tutorials to watch and read.
All the big camera manufacturers like Canon, Nikon and Olympus etc have learning or "school" sections on their web sites, full of worthwhile tips.

ok so i just got a new Home theatre system the Sony DAV-HDZ-485 and when i play dvds it works fine but when i try and connect it to my cable box to watch tv and listen in surround sound it dosent work for any of the speakers. does anybody know what cables i should use i use an hdmi cable to connect my tv to the receiver and component cables for the cable box should i use 2 hdmi cables? if anybody knows anything about these types of problems just reply maybe it will help me out and links would be appreciated
